Introduction to Trig Functions

This section will give you the basics you'll need to know about sine, cosine, and tangents, and to get you started on your adventures into triangles and angles. So go ahead and explore. We've given the videos some cool names, just for fun!!

Pythagorous' Theorem

One side squared plus the other side squared equaled the 3rd side squared. That's all we read, but there was much more to it.

Defining sin, cos & tan

Learn how to define sin, cos and tan, and how to memorized those definitions.

Reciprocals & inverses

You'll need to know how to flip sin and cos upside down and inside out. This video will help.

Why are they called sine, cosine and tangent?

The Greeks were in love with triangles and circles, and hence they created sine and cosine. Learn the sorted tale here.

Eureka! It's a secant!! (The secret origin of "secant" revealed.)

No one else will tell you this secret. Watch this video and a lot more things will start to make sense.

Finding sin, cos and tan for 30, 45 and 60 degrees. It's easy!

The Unit Circle!

Learning the unit circle will change your life. I've got a super easy way to do it.

Pythagorous for angles

We look at this cool idea once again, but this time apply it to the angles not the sides. You need to know this.

The Angle Wars!

Babylonians use 360. Greeks use 2 pi. Why do we measure angles the way we do?  And why not use a metric system? Ancient Kingdoms are at stake.
