Proving Trig Identities

Students will sometimes be asked to show that two groups of trigonometric functions are equal. This is called a "proof." We have 20+ such proofs on this page. Each will use one or more of these principles: 1/ The definitions of the trig functions. 2/ The difference of squares. 3/ Double angle formulas. 4/ Pythagoras' Theorem.
